Kevin Chou is CEO and co-founder of Kabam, the company leading the next wave in gaming – Hardcore Social Games. In two years, Kevin has led a fast-paced company expansion, growing Kabam from a team of 20 people in one office to a 450 person gaming company.
Today, Kabam is a clear leader in the free-to-play, hardcore social games arena that is transforming the traditional gaming industry. The company’s studios create massively multiplayer, free-to-play, digitally delivered games, going beyond “casual games” to design games with features found in more traditional Strategy and RPG MMO games. These are games that to appeal to the growing audience of core gamers looking for highly immersive social games. The company has grown its portfolio of games and currently has six commercial games available for play on platforms such as Google+, Facebook and an ever-increasing number of social networks and game distribution platforms around the world.
Kevin Chou has been at the helm as the CEO leading the business, technology and scaling efforts at Kabam. He has a unique perspective on what it takes to build a game company around the newest monetization and distribution models in today’s rapidly evolving marketplace.
Prior to co-founding Kabam, Kevin worked at global venture capital firm Canaan Partners, where he invested in 14 consumer technology and online media companies. Earlier in his career, Kevin advised public technology companies on M&A and corporate finance as part of Deutsche Bank’s investment banking technology practice. Kevin graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from UC Berkeley with a BS in business administration.
